TimeTrail is a learning app for iPhone and iPad. It introduces people, history, and traditions from around the world. This policy describes Version 2.0.
No TimeTrail account is required. The app does not request a child's name, email address, location, photos, or contacts. We do not operate a server that receives learning progress. There are no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.
The app stores learning preferences and progress on the device. Progress includes points, streaks, completed activities, best quiz scores, and unlocked collection entries. A randomly generated app installation identifier distinguishes progress from different devices. This information:
Parent Zone can reset recent adaptive quiz statistics; that control does not erase points, completed activities, or collection entries. Deleting the app removes its local data but does not necessarily remove iCloud data or device backups. Manage TimeTrail's iCloud data and backups in your device's Apple Account and iCloud settings. Synced progress can return when the app is reinstalled or another connected device syncs.
Bundled profiles, quizzes, stories, and collections work offline. iCloud sync and App Store services require a connection. Source references, support, and privacy links open outside the app after a grown-up check; the destination and hosting provider may process browser information under their own policies.
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. There are no ads in the app.
The device stores whether an earlier version's included library is preserved, whether a purchase request is pending, and your upgrade-suggestion milestones, snooze date and dismissal choice. These settings are not advertising data and are not stored in the synced learning profile. Paid access is verified through Apple StoreKit rather than a learning-profile flag.
Six complete trails are free. An optional non-consumable purchase unlocks the current Complete Library. Apple handles payment, purchase verification, restoration and eligible Family Sharing. TimeTrail does not receive your payment card details. Purchases, restoration and management of any existing subscription are in Parent Zone. Family Sharing shares purchase access; each Apple Account has its own learning profile.
Version 2.0 includes bundled, authored journeys. AI story generation is disabled in this release. Imagined dialogue and choices are labelled and are not historical documents.
TimeTrail is designed for young learners and families. Purchases and external links are behind a grown-up check. Please do not include a child's personal information in support messages. If you believe a child's personal information has been sent to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where applicable.
If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use that information to answer your request. You can request deletion by emailing the support address below.
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the changes on this page with an updated date.
